Continuous Operation Systems

Non Stop, High Speed - up to 120 packs/min

_

All components parts are designed, manufactured and selected on the basis of a 24hr x 7 day working week running at the design speed. Critical components are identified with optimised Mean Time between Failure to support extended trouble free operation. Performance efficiency to 99% are achieved.

_

Cobalts' latest Nexus Continuos operation system show above features an all new design frame that allows the operator to slide each the complete units out and the rotate the unit 180 degress to allow easy access for reloading of media, cleaning, maintenance as well as hot swapping the full engine.

_

Front, Side, Top apply

Precise application with no marks or damage to outer packs and no creasing of labels.

 _

Dynamic switching between apply heads

Operating with a primary labelling head, working at up to 80 packs per minute, the secondary and tertiary heads contribute on demand.

As media needs to be replenished on the primary, the secondary detects the condition and steps in to continue labelling. Once the primary is reloaded and reset, it re-takes the lead.

If issues with print or barcode quality are detected from the primary labeller the secondary ‘corrects’ and takes over should the primary go into fault.

Routine system maintenance can be performed without interrupting product flow.

_

Specialist system design, modular build

Robust frame adapatable to site limitations in dimension, accessability and conveyor positioning.

_

In-line barcode verification

Verification of barcode before printing and validation to ensure the label applied correctly to the pack. Barcode quality is monitored by The Cobalt Sentinel –logging all printed grades and alerting any changes in quality with warnings and alarms to prompt correction before unacceptable standards are reached.

_

Safe positioning for replenishment and maintenance

Labelling heads are safely repositioned away from the line for media replenishment or maintenance. Each head is smoothly withdrawn from the product path to an area with easy access for operator or engineer attendance.

_

Early error detection to prompt preventative action

Deteriorating trends in print quality, detected by the Cobalt Sentinel are reported to the operator screen and system beacons as warnings to prompt action and prevent line stops.  Preventative maintenance eliminates downtime from component wear or media run-out.

_

Biometric security with touch panel control

System access is controlled by fingerprint security, with appropriate rights assigned to each individual. There is no need for passwords to slow the process down, and all activity is logged in an auditable format.

_

Corporate system interface

Interfacing with Recipe management and ERP systems the Cobalt Sentinel collects product,  customer and label format data from the host network to guarantee the accuracy of the labelling process. Completion and log data is passed back to the host to confirm completion of the labelling operation once the pack or pallet has passed.
